Our photo competition winnersThis month we received some excellent photos. Thank you to all our entrants. The three winners are:
We are commencing a new competition with a closing date of 1 December 2003 (see photos.htm for details). Here is a group photo from Heidi's "Love Letter" party (click to see it larger):
Heidi sent in this feedback about her party: "This is our photo of "The Love Letter Cast". We had this party as an 11th birthday party for my daughter. There were two 9 year old and 7 eleven year old girls. My son, 9 years old played Lord Mazzing. They had a blast!!! I went to the local thrift stores and bought all the costumes. They were less that $10 each. The maid Miss Petticoat and the cook Mrs. Gertrude Grimshaw were played by my best friend and me. That way we could help direct the girls and be right in the middle of things. I would suggest for anyone wanting to have this party for young ladies to go ahead and read the script yourself first so you can help them with knowing who is supposed to (do) what and when. Also you would have a better idea of what props to have handy (like chocolates in act II). I will definitely have another mystery party, as this one turned out so well. Maybe if I pay more attention I will figure out who done it! See you again soon! Heidi Easterling" Dianne sent in this feedback about her "Murder of the Great Chef" party: ""Murder of the Great Chef was a blast", we all had so much fun we decided to do a mystery dinner quarterly. Keep writing, we will certainly use you again. Thankfully yours

Feedback on "The Love Letter"Katherine Dowd used the The Love Letter kit for her party:
"I would just like to let you know that we had our daughter's 10th birthday party last weekend with your "Love Letter" game and it was FANTASTIC! My son was the token male who gets murdered after Act One and 12 girls arrived dressed like beautiful ladies of the 1800's! I was a little nervous that 10 and 11 year olds may not get the concept of the game but they were wonderful. We had Shirley Temples and h'ourdeurves with Act One, dinner with Act 2 and a bonnet cake and ice cream with Act 3. At the end of Act 3, as the girls were sitting around the dining room table and it had gotten quite dark out, we lit candles and used a flashlight to go around the room and guess "who did it". Several girls guessed correctly and my daughter was thrilled because it turned out her character was the murderer (completely coincidental since we drew names out of a hat as to who would be who three weeks before the party!). We will highly recommend this kind of party to anyone who enjoys
dressing up and pretending! ******** Here is Ann's winning photo from her "Balmy Bahamas Cruise" party (click to see it larger):
Ann sent in this feedback about her party: "Dear Stephanie, I am attaching our group photo from our adventure with the "Balmy Bahamas Cruise" at our holiday family gathering last summer. We had a wonderful time getting our costumes together and were held in suspense as to who the murderer would be. The variety of characters was especially fun. We had participants aged 20 to 74 and were able to find just the right character to cast each person in the antithesis of their personality (added to the fun dynamics!) We all got involved with the decorating complete with a boat top-deck, lovely colorful flowers, Bahamas souvenirs, lights, and music. It was a great evening and we look forward to doing it again sometime. Ann Dunbar" |
