A client recently sent in some wonderful photos and a video from her Mardi Gras Mayhem party. She has won a free kit as a result because of our ongoing photo, decoration and video competitions.

You may also like to host a Mardi Gras party on Tuesday, February 21st 2023.

Here is the general overview from this kit:

Itโ€™s Mardi Gras in New Orleans and the city is full of party-goers. The parade has finished and the invitation-only Ball is about to start.

But this yearโ€™s Rex King of the Mardi Gras โ€“ a local property developer called Darrin Hibiscus โ€“ hasnโ€™t been seen since he went up the steps of Gallier Hall to collect the keys to the city.

The Mayor waited in his office, but the king never appeared. His wife waited for him to pass by, but he never did.

Has he been kidnapped? Itโ€™s your job to find out.

There are versions for small parties of 10 to 16 guests and larger parties of 17 to 30 guests.

Are there reviews for this kit?

Yes. Just look at the “What They’ve Said” tab on the product page.

โ€œOur New Orleans Mayhem went extremely well. We had over 150 attendees and everyone enjoyed it.โ€

Janette Mulka, USA

โ€œThe party went very well thank you! All was good. The younger ones (8yr) were really getting into it and taking notes even. Parents and kids were working together and it was fun to dress up and act out. No one figured it out correctly but 2 guessed the right answer. THANK YOU!!!โ€

What is this celebration all about?

Mardi Gras is also known as “Carnaval” or “Carnival”. It started thousands of years ago with pagan spring and fertility rites, but evolved to become a Christian holiday.

Itโ€™s celebrated in many countries on the day before the Roman Catholic Lent begins. Lent is a period of fasting for religious reasons.

Mardi means Tuesday in French, and gras means โ€œfat.โ€ So the day before Ash Wednesday came to be known as Mardi Gras, or โ€œFat Tuesdayโ€ in France. That is why at this time of year there is a tendency to binge on rich, fatty foods like meat, eggs, milk, lard and cheese.

Countries like Brazil and Venice in Italy celebrate it and, of course, New Orleans in the USA. It’s a really fun event that you won’t want to miss celebrating.
